What is the best way to learn how to be a waiter?

The idea has only recently come to my mind to be a waiter. I can not imagine why. I do not drink at all, ever, and I have no intention of starting. Based on that, how do I learn to be a waiter? I find Bartending school? What are good and low cost? I find a restaurant that would be willing to teach me? Would have to start from the basics like I could not tell the difference between a cocktail and a martini. I am also willing to accept the possibility that this is a totally stupid idea on my part (having alcohol withdrawal in mind) and try to find something else to do with myself.
