How do I word an invitation to bring your own liquor?
We're throwing a big 60th birthday for my mother and is having a luau with about 150 people. Over weight people who are party. Let good supply of liquor and beer (and a waiter), but these people will be here all Probally day and night and just wanted to add an insert in the invite that grace may be asked to bring what you are drinking. I am sure that everything we buy be long gone, but arent a bar. How can we word that without being in bad taste? Perhaps a little rhyme? Any suggestions?
BYOB, I write this at the bottom of the invitation. It means bring your own bottle. Your invitation could say you are providing beverages, but some people may not be able to drink alcohol safely. 10 percent of Americans are alcoholics. Therefore, it is also better to have ice tea, coffee, and diet coke / pepsi available (for diabetics) as well. Planning a big group, like 150 is difficult, need to have enough rest rooms and meet several dietary restrictions as well. There are also some legal considerations. As said many a "heavy Party People" make sure to have a sign that reads: "If you drive, have a designated driver to get home." Otherwise you could be sued if a drunken guest left traffric and had an accident. You, as your host, will, unless stopped serving "drunk" guests before leaving. Good luck
