Bad Beer Sick

Can bottled or canned beer go bad and make you sick?
I’ve drank beer for years and sometimes it seem’s like you’ll get one that just doesn’t taste right. Same brand, same 6-pack, could be the first, could be the last. Sometimes their’s just something funky about one.
Beer is the lowest alcohol content of all alcoholic beverages. At about 3-5% alcohol, there’s not enough alcohol to keep the product completely free of odd yeasts, etc. This is why beer has a short expiration date. Very few beers age well. Most should be consumed within 6 months of bottling and many within 3 months. At 10% alcohol content or higher (wine), the product has enough alcohol in it to preserve it. Hence the reason that wine can be years old and still palatable.
Beer is also brewed from grain and hops. It’s a “natural” product and can vary from year to year based on the quality of the crop that year. Modern brewers mix, match, and use chemical analysis to get as close to the same brew each time but there will always be a bit of difference. Grapes vary also, which is why you hear quotes like “it was a good year for such and such.”
Taste is also subjective. Some foods can change the way a product tastes as can some supplements. Ever heard the joke about how horrible beer tastes right after you brush your teeth?
I’m the same way. I drink the same beer most of the time, but occasionally it just tastes a little off.
BAD BEER BEGINS BIG BARF-O-RAMA!
