In their study, Jones recruited 80 students from the University of Glasgow. Half of the students had drunk up to four units of alcohol, equivalent to a maximum of two pints of beer or two and a half glasses of wine. The rest remained sober.
Both groups were asked after the color photos of 120 students of both sexes aged between 18 and 26 at the University of St. Andrews. The group found drunk the people in the photos more attractive than non-drinkers.
"The effect reported can be traced to the nucleus accumbens.
