"Moderate consumption is defined as two drinks per day if you are a man of 65 years and younger, or a drink a day if you are a woman or a man of 66 years or more. One drink is defined as 12 ounces (355 milliliters) of beer, 5 ounces (148 milliliters) of wine or 1.5 ounces (44 milliliters) of 80-proof distilled spirits. "Excuse my math because I've been doing more that drinking in moderation, but this afternoon: Two American beers are 24 ounces in about 5.3% AV, so for a man who would be around 6% 1.7L AV. I hope that helps. Go to that link and have the benefits of moderate daily consumption of an excess risk. Cited: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/alcohol/SC00024
